Route Summary

Below is a general guide for each day's route. Because route permitting is still in process, all information is subject to change.

Day One

Thursday, September 20, 2007
Hard Walkers will start their day in the very serene Huntington Beach State Park. A family oriented park; you will enjoy a peaceful walk. It will be especially quiet given that you will start your journey at 6:00 AM. You’ll have several hours to bond with your fellow walkers as you walk up to the Jetty and then turnaround and head south to the pristine beaches in Litchfield. Just past Litchfield Beach you’ll turn around and make your way back to the treasured Huntington Beach State Park where you will travel back to the jetty and it’s grand views of Murrell’s Inlet. You’ll have time to reflect on your day as you make your way back to the parking area where your chariot awaits to take you back to Hard Rock Park for a well deserved meal.

Day Two

Friday, September 21, 2007
Hard Walkers will start their day in North Myrtle Beach at 59th Ave. N. Today’s section of the Grand Strand will have you heading south. You’ll find the beachfront changes from large hotels into stretches of beautiful homes hidden behind the dunes that help protect our shores. We’ll head towards 48th Ave. S. where you will turn around and walk back to 59th Ave. N. continuing our journey in the community of North Myrtle Beach. After another 15 miles under feet, we’ll transport you back to Hard Rock Park. Another rewarding dinner awaits you.

Day Three

Saturday, September 22, 2007
Today is the big day. The last in the journey for the Hard Walkers and only the beginning for Day Trippers and Punk Walkers. Hard Walkers will start their journey in Garden City Beach. Garden City Beach lies in both Georgetown County and Horry County. As you pass into Horry County, you’ll travel under the famed Garden City Pier. Moving north, you’ll head into Surfside Beach. Several pit stops will support you on your journey, including the Holiday Inn Surfside Beach. Myrtle Beach city limits is next on the horizon. You’ll make your way along the shore into Myrtle Beach State Park. As you head into the park, you’ll see our numbers grow as Day Trippers begin their journey from this location. Heading further north under Spring Maid Pier hotels and tourists will sprout up through this stretch. As you make your way to your final destination near the old Pavilion, you’ll see little ones out in support of the cause. The Punk Walkers will be joining the fold the last mile of the route. Upon arriving at the end of your journey, Hard Walkers and Day Trippers will be transported by waiting buses to take them to the Kick Ass Celebration at Hard Rock Park. Punk Walkers will meet you at the park. We’ll all celebrate the enormous accomplishment and the needed funds raised for the Sara Goodwin Memorial Foundation, SOS Health Care and the SOS Children’s Villages USA.

Day Trippers
Day Trippers begin their journey in Myrtle Beach State Park. Heading further north under the Spring Maid Pier. As you make your way to your final destination near the old Pavilion, you’ll see little ones out in support of the cause. The Punk Walkers will be joining the fold the last mile of the route. Upon arriving at the end of your journey, Hard Walkers and Day Trippers will be transported by waiting buses to take them to the Kick Ass Celebration at Hard Rock Park. Punk Walkers will meet you at the park. We’ll all celebrate the enormous accomplishment and the needed funds raised for the Sara Goodwin Memorial Foundation, SOS Health Care and the SOS Children’s Villages USA.

Punk Walkers
Punk Walkers will check in at Plyer Park and begin and end their walk near the old Pavilion. Street parking is abundant in the area. The Punk Walkers will be joining the Hard Walkers and Day Trippers on the last mile of the route. After your walk concludes, head back to your car and drive to Hard Rock Park where we will all celebrate the enormous accomplishment and the needed funds raised for the Sara Goodwin Memorial Foundation, SOS Health Care and the SOS Children’s Villages USA.
