Sara is Steven Goodwin’s (The Founder of the Charity) late wife. She passed away tragically and unexpectedly in 2006. It’s called Sara’s Beach Walk because of her love of strolling on the beach.
Because of their work with children. Sara believed that helping children to help themselves is the best way to help them develop as people.
The walk is held every year after Labor Day. The date and place vary each year so check the website for more information. The 2010 event is being held on November 21 along the beach at Huntington Beach State Park, Georgetown, SC. The course route is set out here.
